Biography

Crystal Daigle was born and raised in a beautiful Erie Canal region of upstate New York, in the city of Schenectady, where her artistic development was shaped from a variety of experiences and influences. Surrounded by the lush vegetation of the Mohawk River in summer time and the inevitable snowy, cloistered winters, she began her life of exploration and expression which continues to evolve and surprise her daily.

From the very beginning of her life, Crystal could’t stop making things… inventing recipes, sewing over-stuffed Barbie Doll furniture on an old machine, and one day, laying on her bedroom floor, she made the thrilling discovery of how to draw with light and shadow by copying a birthday card.  Movement was also her love; gymnastics, dancing, ice-skating then later basketball and soccer.

Because Crystal wanted to engage in a thriving urban environment, she decided to graduate from high school in three years and moved to Philadelphia to attend the Philadelphia College of Art (PCA) when she was seventeen. At PCA she explored performance art which lead to her study of acting at Temple University. There she earned her bachelors in theater and graduated magna cum laude. 

Crystal's heart was always called more so to the visual arts. She set up her studio and began selling her work to individuals and corporations. Her collectors include Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY, R & G Medical Consultants of Peoria, AZ, Aaron Duncan Smyth, Jin Shin Jyustu Practitioner of Scottsdale, AZ as well as many individual collectors across the country.

In 2003, Crystal moved to Arizona to explore the richness of the desert and the "melting pot" that characterizes the Valley of the Sun. She feels incredibly at home and deeply inspired by the desert and the wonderful friends she's made who continually support her and her work.
